A "special" fundraising initiative will take place in Co Monaghan tomorrow evening.
"George" the Charolais heifer who was reared as a family pet since lockdown was kindly donated to Ballybay Mart for auction by the McCarra family in a bid to raise essential funds for Crocus Monaghan and the Irish cancer society.
As a result of this kind gesture, the 'Charolais Angels' committee in Scotstown was formed, which consists of four local ladies, who live within a three-mile radius of one another and who are all on separate cancer journeys.
Speaking to Northern Sound, committee member Bernie Sherry praised the McCarra children - Shannon, Peter and Nadine for their kind donation.
