Spate of crimes reported in Carrick/Blayney

Gardaí in the Carrickmacross and Castleblayney areas are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.

Gardaí are appealing for information in relation to a number of burglaries which have taken place in the Carrickmacross/Castleblayney areas. Garda Tracy Donaghy is appealing for anyone with information to come forward and contact their local Garda station in relation to the recent crimes. Gardaí are appealing for information in relation to two burglaries which took place in the Carrickmacross area during the night of Wednesday the 7th of August. Two homes were broken into in the Lisanisk area between 2am and 8am. According to Gardaí, two cars were also stolen during the course of the burglaries. A black Kia Sportage and a grey Hyundai Toscon. Gardaí continue to investigate this matter and would like to hear from anyone who noticed any suspicious activity.

Staying in the Carrickmacross area, Gardaí are also investing a burglary which took place just after 11am, during the day of Thursday the 8th of August. A home in Magheross Drive in Carrickmacross was entered and a number of items including jewellery were stolen. Elsewhere, in the Castleblayney area, Gardaí are investigating the theft of gardening equipment. The incident took place between 11am on Saturday the 24th of August and 9am on Sunday the 25th of August. A garden shed was broken into in the Drumillard area of Castleblayney and a lawn mower and strimmer were stolen. Garda Tracy Donaghy is encouraging those with information in relation to any of the crimes which could assist with Garda enquires to come forward.
