Gardaí are appealing for information following a spate of thefts across Co Cavan. The incidents took place across the month of December and Gardaí are keen to hear from anyone who may have further information or who can assist with investigations. Gardaí in Bailieborough are investigating a burglary which occurred on the 1st of December 2023 between the hours of 8am and 8.30pm in the Claragh area of Cootehill. A bedroom window was forced open to gain entry and the rooms were ransacked, while it appears the perpetrators were unsuccessful in obtaining items, Gardaí are anxious to reprehend them. Elsewhere in Bracklin, Bailieborough between the 13th and 15th of December, a vacant house was broken into. According to local Gardaí, homeowners returned to find the rear door forced open and a sum of cash was taken from the property. Anyone who noticed any suspicious activity during that period are asked to contact Gardaí in Bailieborough. Finally in Kingscourt Gardaí are investigating a burglary that occurred on Turner's Hill, Kingscourt between 2pm and 7 pm on the 14th of December.
The rear door was forced open causing considerable damage and the house was ransacked, however the culprits left empty handed. Anyone who can recall any suspicious cars or activity in the area on the 14th December, Gardaí in Kingscourt would like to hear from you.
