South Monaghan urgently needs GPs to relocate to the area.
That’s the message from Sinn Fein Councillor Colm Carthy who says the people of Carrickmacross have been experiencing the shortage in the sector for a number of years.
He says that many people are registered with doctors in neighboring counties or towns, or have to attend the emergency department or doctor on call if they need medical attention.
Councillor Carthy is highlighting the need for immediate action by the Government, stating that the current GPs are under increasing pressure:
