A local suicide prevention charity is encouraging people to create 'a mental health toolbox' to cope over the next few weeks.
Christine Wynn is the Co-ordinator of the SOSAD Cavan branch and says that while many people are in good environments at home not all families are the
same and people may need ways to escape over the festive period.
She recommends creating a toolbox, which is personal to everyone, and contains activities or distractions that can be accessed when things get
tough.
Christine says this has been a particularly hard year for young people in the region and advises putting this box together while you are okay rather
than waiting until it's too late:
SOSAD in Cavan will be operating their support lines throughout the
(Christmas/New Year period ) if anyone feels they need to talk or need support.
