Solar panels are to be installed on the roof of the shopping centre in Carrickmacross.
Monaghan County Council granted approval for the plans recently.
A O'Gorman Company Ltd had applied to install the solar panels on the building in Market Square back in April.

The Council approved the plans subject to two conditions.
These include that no electricity generated can be sold back to the national grid without the Council's approval.
