The Social Protection Minister says no changes are being made to local Community Welfare Services.
It comes after Councillor Colm Carthy highlighted the concern of some for the future of the service.
He had sought a meeting with Minister Heather Humphreys to ensure in-person consultations wouldn’t be impacted by a move to digital.
In a statement to Northern Sound News, Minister Humphreys said the Community Welfare Service in Monaghan is “fully operational” and “not being diminished in any shape or form”.
She added that video-call facilities are being trialled, but the need for face-to-face meetings are sometimes required and won’t be impacted.
