The Social Protection Minister has confirmed that funding under the School Meals Programme will continue during upcoming mid-term break.
The funding typically is confined to the academic year, but an exception is being made due to Covid-19.
This will ensure that participating schools, both primary and secondary, can provide food parcels from the 15th to the 19th of February.
The decision mirrors arrangements that were in place during school holidays in 2020.
The Schools Meals Programme benefits almost 230,000 children nationwide, and Social Protection Minister Heather Humphreys praised school staff who facilitate the programme:
