The Dublin-based company aims to employ ten staff in Cavan by the end of the year.

Local Minister Heather Humphreys says this will be above and beyond the State pension.

The move was due to come into force in 2022.

The changes will initially apply to all new jobseekers’ applicants, before extending to others in the coming months.

Councillors had voiced concern over the vacant posts, saying people had difficulties in accessing the service. 

Social Protection Minister Humphreys welcomed government approval of the changes.

The funding will also assist elderly and vulnerable groups in developing their digital skills.

The hospitality sector reported a big drop off in business since the midnight curfew was introduced.
