The construction of a 32-unit social housing development at Woodlands, Ballyjamesduff is progressing well according to the Cathaoirleach of Cavan County Council.
This turnkey development is being constructed for Cavan County Council by Mollmac Developments Ltd, and consists of 16 two-bedroom houses, 12 three-bedroom houses and 4 four-bedroom houses.
Local firm Wynne, Gormley, Gilsenan Architects is the lead designer for the scheme.
The total scheme cost of the 32 units is approximately €8m, which is being funded by the Department of Housing, Local Government, and Heritage.
Speaking during a visit this week to the site, Cllr Philip Brady said it was encouraging to see such rapid progress being made in the delivery of "this very significant housing development for the Ballyjamesduff area".
The Mullarohan native made the comments as he reviewed plans with the construction and project management team at the Ballyjamesduff location.
"These high-quality homes will prove a welcome addition to the council's housing stock and will provide 32 households with energy efficient, environmentally friendly homes. I want to thank all of the project team in Cavan County Council's housing construction section for their ongoing efforts in delivering on our housing goals, and look forward to working alongside them to continue the great progress made to date," added Cllr Brady.
Work on the scheme commenced in late 2022 and is due for completion in the fourth quarter of 2024.
