Sleet, snow and strong winds are expected across the region later today and tomorrow morning.
Met Eireann has an issued an orange snow and ice warning for Cavan, Monaghan, Meath and 14 other counties.
The warning will be active until 10am tomorrow. Monaghan County Council has issued a warning saying further spells of sleet and snow combined with strong east to northeast winds will leave for very hazardous road conditions along with poor visibility.
Significant accumulations of snow are expected with snow drifts possible in the area. Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show earlier Cathal Nolan of Ireland's weather Channel says conditions will deteriorate from early this evening across the region.
