Temperatures are set to plummet across the region this evening as a band of rain, sleet and snow pushes south over the province. There will be widespread frost and ice across Ulster overnight with lowest temperatures dipping to -4 degrees.
Freezing fog will develop and tomorrow morning will start with a band of rain, sleet and snow continuing to track south over the province. Met Eireann says that accumulations of snow are possible and this will lead to hazardous road conditions.
Meanwhile, Cavan and Monaghan county councils are gritting roads and advising motorists to drive with extreme caution on Thursday.
