Over €9m has been earmarked for Cavan and Monaghan under a new tranche of Rural Regeneration Funding.
Rural and Community Development Minister, Heather Humphreys, made the announcement this morning.
€115m will be provided by the Government to transform old courthouses, schools and churches into modern community hubs across 23 counties.
Meanwhile, €2.7m has been awarded in Monaghan to the Blackwater Valley Rural Enterprise and Digital Hub in Knockconan.
In Cavan, €6.9m will be allocated to Ballyjamesduff for redevelopment and refurbishment of the derelict former Percy French hotel and site in the town centre while a remote working hub and community facilities will act as a focal point for the economic, tourism and community regeneration of the town and its wider hinterland.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Trevor Smith "welcomed" the news, adding that it is a "great day" for Ballyjamesduff:
