There was a slight increase in the number of people signing on the live register locally in May.
The latest CSO data shows 5,723 people signing on in Cavan and Monaghan last month.
That's up by 58 on April's figure, with 45 more signing on in County Cavan and 13 in County Monaghan.
Ballyconnell and Carrickmacross were the only local towns to see drops in the number signing on - down by 19 and six respectively.
Cavan has seen an increase of almost 150 on its live register year on year while Monaghan has seen a drop of 40.
The live register includes people working up to three days a week and seasonal and casual workers entitled to Jobseekers' Benefit or Allowance.
