Six local students have been awarded scholarships worth €20,000. Dr Martin and Carmel Naughton have awarded scholarships to students across the country since 2008.

Six local students have been awarded scholarships worth €20,000.

Dr Martin and Carmel Naughton have awarded scholarships to students across the country since 2008.

This year Jason Carragher and Matthew Wallace from Monaghan, Daniel Rowley from Cavan, Tommy Seery from Leitrim, Zoe Guinane from Longford and Roddie McGuinness from Roscommon are among 35 students to receive the awards.

Each county is guaranteed a scholarships of € 20,000, with some receiving more each year.

Over €4 million has been awarded by the foundation since it began the scholarship awards in 2008.

Martin Naughton founded GlenDimplex in 1973 and he and his wife Carmel set up the Naughton Foundation in 1994.
