Six local companies have been approved for funding under the Online Retail Scheme.
The funding, which is administered by Enterprise Ireland, was announced today by Minister of State for Business, Employment and Retail, Damien English.
216 retailers will share in funding of €9.3 million, including one retailer from Cavan and five from Monaghan.
Agri-Direct is the sole benefactor from Cavan, while McArdles, Upstairs Downstairs, Ronaghan's Pharmacy, Shoe City, and Ted4Parts all benefit from Monaghan.
The Scheme was open to retailers who already have an online presence alongside a physical store, and is targeted at enhancing their online capability.
Successful applicants will receive grants ranging from €10,000 to a maximum of €64,000.
