A local Sinn Féin TD has called for the continuation of the Pandemic Unemployment Payment "until the economy can get back on its feet".
A study by the ERSI found that minimum wage workers are disproportionately affected by pandemic-related job losses, and Pauline Tully says these workers require assistance until society re-opens.
Deputy Tully added that the research "underlines the need to introduce a Living Wage", as some minimum wage workers are "struggling to keep themselves afloat".
