Sinn Fein are to hold a second convention Sunday night in The Four Seasons Hotel in Monaghan for the Cavan Monaghan constituency.
The added convention comes following Deputy Matt Carthy and Deputy Pauline Tully were officially selected in early September to run in the upcoming General Election.
The party had decided to run two candidates in a hope to see both returned in the local constituency but now have decided to run a three candidate strategy similar to Fianna Fail and Fine Gael.
It was thought at the time and both Deputy Carthy and Deputy Tully revealed to Northern Sound at the time that it was possible that another candidate may be added at a later date.
2020 was the first time Sinn Fein returned two TD's for Cavan/Monaghan.
Northern Sound understands that Cllr Cathy Bennett who has been a poll topper for the party at the last two local elections will be added to the ticket.
Cllr Bennett is currently the cathaoirleach of Monaghan County Council.
It's unknown if there is anyone else that has put their name forward in relation to a bid in the Dail.
Sinn Fein Leader Mary McDonald will address the convention and deliver a keynote speech with the convention beginning at 7pm at the Four Seasons Hotel.
