Sinn Fein president "very hopeful" on Pauline Tully's Seanad bid

Polls closed today in the Seanad election for the vocational panels.

Sinn Féin leader, Mary Lou McDonald says she is very hopeful that Pauline Tully will be elected as a senator for the area.

It will be known by the weekend who has been successful in their Seanad bid.

6 people from across Cavan and Monaghan have put their names forward for the Seanad elections. The 6 include 3 sitting senators two sitting councillors in Cavan and former TD Pauline Tully.

Polls closed today in the Seanad election for the vocational panels. A number of former TDs along with Pauline Tully are seeking election to the senate with votes to be counted over the weekend. Speaking in Co Monaghan, Deputy McDonald said she wants to see Pauline Tully back representing the people of the region.
