Vote tallies in Monaghan show, Sinn Féin are on track to take eight of 18 seats on Monaghan County Council.
Cathy Bennett is currently topping the polls in North Monaghan on 1,208. Whereas, while Colm Carthy is on course to top affairs in Carrickmacross-Castleblayney with current tallies showing him on 1,100.
Other Sinn Féín Candidates on course to take seats on the council include, Seán Conlon, Bronagh McAree, Paul Gibbons, Aoife Kindlon, Pat Treanor, and Sinéad Flynn. The party is currently on course to claim 44% of available seats a gain of two seats. Fine Gael are behind Sinn Féin on 33%, Fianna Fáíl at 17%, and non-party at 6%.
