There has been a sharp decline in trade between Ireland and Britain this year, according to the ESRI.
It says Brexit has also seen trade between Ireland and Northern Ireland increase considerably.
More than 40 percent of Ireland's imports from the UK came from the north in the first half of this year, up from six percent in 2015.
However, just 7.2 percent of our total imports were from Britain over the same period, down from 23 percent.
Martina Lawless, research professor at the ESRI, says Brexit had led to a big shift in trade.
