Independent Ireland has announced the candidacy of Councillor Shane P O'Reilly for Cavan-Monaghan in the upcoming General Election.
In both the 2019 and 2024 local elections, Shane was elected on the first count in Ballyjamesduff.
He was twice elected as cathaoirleach of Cavan County Council, in 2014 and 2019.
Cllr O'Reilly said: "All across Ireland, there is a mood for real change.
"I firmly believe that with Independent councillors, TDs, and new candidates coming together, we can deliver a real choice and implement the real change that so many people are looking for. I am delighted to be joining such a strong team and am keen to continue working for the people of the region and the wider Cavan Monaghan constituency. Together, we will help deliver a better future for all my constituents."
