The weather forecast for Cavan and Monaghan is set to remain very cold with clear spells and widespread frost over the coming days.
Monaghan native and Met Eireann weather man Gerry Murphy says temperatures are set to plummet in the early days of next week. Mr Murphy says that day time temperatures early next week will only be around 2 degrees with night time temperatures dropping back as low as minus 6.
He warned motorists to take caution as driving conditions are expected to be "dangerous" with icy patches on roads and pavements. The Maheracloone man says we are in for a very cold snap.
