Roads Policing Units in the Northern Sound region have detained several motorists for drug driving offenses in recent days, despite the current Level 5 Covid restrictions.
On Monday of this week, gardaí in the Belturbet area stopped a vehicle during an Operation Fanacht checkpoint - the driver was detained after testing positive for both cocaine and cannabis.
Cavan Roads Policing Unit also arrested an unaccompanied learner driver who tested positive for cannabis - the car was also detained.
Elsewhere, the Monaghan Roads Policing Unit arrested a drive in the Clones area who tested positive for cocaine and they have been charged for court.
