Gardaí have confirmed to Northern Sound that several cattle were injured after a livestock lorry overturned earlier on the N3.
The single vehicle incident happened on the N3 road at the Derver roundabout at Whitegate this morning..
Gardaí and other members of the emergency services attended the scene. The N3 was closed for a time to all traffic at Whitegate/Derver due to the road traffic collision.

Motorists were advised to avoid the route if possible and to follow the diversion routes that were put in place.
