Seven Irish Thoroughbreds are believed to have been among a consignment of horses seized at Dover Port. UK Port Authorities found 20 animals - including racehorses - in 'horrific conditions' in a lorry headed for Europe last December.
Efforts are underway to make a formal identification of the horses - five of which had to be put down. Roly Owers Chief Executive of 'World Horse Rescue' says they were in a heart-breaking condition:
