Children with Down Syndrome "regressed and went backwards" during school closures throughout the pandemic.
That's the warning from Brian Reneghan, who is a member of the Monaghan branch of Down Syndrome Ireland.
He says school closures and a lack of services, such as speech and language therapies, has put them at a "significant disadvantage".
Brian called on the government to do more to get these services back up and running, but praised the volunteerism of the local Down Syndrome branches.
