An Independent TD says there's a 'serious question mark' around the National Broadband Plan.
It's after it was revealed just over 40 thousand homes were passed by the end of March.
New figures from National Broadband Ireland show the target for the end of the year, has been cut from 205,000 to 102,000
Independent Deputy Michael McNamara says people are being told the service isn't available.
"From what I'm hearing, people are crying out for a broadband connection but can't get it to their homes," he continued.
The Government really has to look at the contract that was signed with the service provider.
"It needs to examine the mechanisms that are there to hold the service provider to the targets that was set out in the plan."
