An Offaly weather forecaster expects serious disruption to electricity supplies in the Cavan/Monaghan area.
A status red weather warning for wind has been issued for Cavan and Monaghan in the last few hours.
It will be in effect from 6am on Friday morning until 12pm Friday afternoon.
