An area remains cordoned off this afternoon following the serious assault in Cavan.

The serious assault happened in a car park of a pub on the Clonsilla Road in Dublin 15 shortly after 11pm on Sunday.

Declan Wallace was allegedly struck with a steel baseball bat.

The Judge agreed with the Gardai in relation to refusing bail for the Maughan brothers.

The two men and a woman, who are all in their 20s, will appear at Cavan District Court this morning.

A man aged in his 40s remains in a critical condition this evening.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Two men and a woman, all in their 20s are being questioned by gardaí while the victim, a man in his 40s is in a critical condition in Beaumont Hospital.
