Serial testing at Carton Brothers in Shercock has returned a number of positive Covid-19 cases.
The chicken processor confirmed to Northern Sound News that the results were returned as part of the HSE's national serial screening programme, which was carried out at the Cavan site this week.
A spokesperson said they were informed of a number of positive tests, and those employees are now self-isolating.
Northern Sound News understands, the company is dealing with a small number of "individual" cases.
Those who tested positive will continue to receive pay in line with the company sick pay scheme.
Carton Brothers says it assisted the HSE with the track and trace work, which is now complete.
In a statement, the company said it's put in place a comprehensive suite of measures since the Covid-19 crisis began in March to ensure the maximum safety of employees, while maintaining critical supply chain continuity with customers.
Carton Bros will continue to take all necessary and appropriate measures to ensure the safest possible working conditions for our employees in the fight against Covid-19.
It's focus remains on the health of our employees and the community, on business continuity and animal welfare.
