The secretary of Monaghan Ógra Fianna Fáil has resigned because of a number of issues at national level.
Niko Kawonczyk issued a statement online tonight where he outlined his decision and reasons for doing so.
In it, he said the situation within the party was unacceptable and "slowly descending into absolute and utter chaos".
He highlighted "organised political harassment" at members, and instances where female party members had their appearances "ranked" via "a number of Zoom calls".
He resigns from the position of secretary of Monaghan Ógra Fianna Fáil with immediate effect.
Niko concluded the statement by saying he "cannot morally" be party to this behaviour, and that Fianna Fáil "cannot let a few bully-boys shape the future of the party"
This is the latest instance where a Monaghan person has announced a resignation from youth politics.
In October, Tara Gilsenan resigned as Chair of Young Greens because of continued internal issues.
