A second bird flu outbreak has been reported on a Monaghan farm.
A broiler flock in the county has tested positive for the H5N1 strain.
Northern Sound News understands that there are approximately 15,000 hens at the site, which is around one kilometre from the other confirmed commercial outbreak.
On Saturday, it was confirmed that the highly contagious disease was found in a turkey farm in Monaghan, with up to 30,000 birds affected there.
Restriction zones are in place in County Monaghan in an attempt to prevent the further spread of avian influenza.
The Department of Agriculture has been contacted for comment.
