A search operation off the coast of Waterford will resume this morning, for a missing kayaker. Emergency services were alerted to the incident yesterday afternoon. Shortly before midday yesterday, the kayaker left Helvick Head near Dungarvan - but failed to return. The Irish Coast Guard was alerted to the incident at around 5.25pm and a search operation was initiated.
They are being aided by RNLI's Helvick Head Lifeboat, Coast Guard units from Ardmore and Bunmahon, and the Rescue helicopter 117. It’s understood the naval vessel LÉ Aoibhinn is coordinating the search. The search is expected to resume this morning.
