Louth County Council is asking people in Drogheda not to feed seagulls in the town. An anti-littering campaign and the use of falcons and artificial falcons are also being suggested following complaints of a string of attacks by seagulls.
However, Deputy Lord Mayor of Louth County Council, Cllr Kevin Callan, says they're not considering a cull of the birds. A National Gull Survey for 2022 showed there are more seagulls in Drogheda than in every town on the west coast combined, with 360 nests recorded.
