Stephen Murray from Scotstown will represent Co Monaghan at the 17th Annual Mr Personality Festival which is being organised by Kilkenny County Macra na Feirme. The festival will take place during the 5th and 6th of April at The Talbot Hotel, Clonmel. The current Scotstown Macra was only formed last March and since then the North Monaghan group has only gone from strength to strength. Speaking to Northern Sound, Stephen believes that the group which hold its meetings in the Sliabh Beagh Hotel is a "great outlet" for people of all ages. He added that it is a "great way" to connect with other people who you may not know within your own community and further afield. "It is a great outlet and you'll find within any parish that there will be people who you just don't know," Stephen explained. "It's a great way of connecting with other people from outside your friendship group and people from other backgrounds. Macra used to be predominantly farming based but you don't have to be in anyway involved in farming at all, anybody is welcome as it's about the craic and trying to keep people socialised and out and about."
