12 schools across Cavan and Monaghan are set to benefit from funding of over €3,000 under the Creative Schools programme.
Selected schools in the Arts Council led programme will receive €3,100 to develop creative plans, an increase of €1,000.
Set up in 2018, the initiative grants funding to schools to develop a plan for creativity and provides schools with a ‘Creative Associate’ to work with them on their creative plan.
One of the standout projects from last year was an initiative at Beech Hill College, Monaghan, which saw the school collaborate with sculptor Joanne Behan.
Minister for Education Norma Foley said "it’s important that students are supported to develop their creativity and to express themselves", especially in these challenging times.
