Schools across Cavan and Monaghan are continuing to expand their facilities this week with news that Ballyhaise National School has received approval to proceed to tender for its new extension.
Minister for Education Norma Foley made the announcement yesterday. The new accommodation will include a general classroom with en-suite toilets and also toilets for two existing classrooms.
Meanwhile, works are well underway at Our Lady Secondary School in Castleblayney. A 13 classroom extension is being added to the school and roof timbers and windows were added in recent days.
Deputy Brendan Smith and Deputy Niamh Smyth have congratulated the principals and boards of management of the schools. "I wish Ballyhaise school community every success with this building project.
"It will enhance the school's existing facilities," added Deputy Smith
