The founder of Clontibret firm, Moffett Automated Storage, Sam Moffett has been awarded with the EY Entrepreneur of the Year title. As a founding partner in COMBILIFT and having previously developed the MOFFETT MOUNTY, EY described the Moffett name and tradition from Monaghan as "synonymous with engineering and software innovation."
Sam founded Moffett Automated Storage in 2017 and today it employs 65 people at its Clontibret headquarters. The company designs, manufactures, installs, and supports fully integrated automated warehouse pallet storage systems.
There was actually double success for County Monaghan because while Mr Moffett was named overall winner, Carrickmacross man, Ciaran Marron of Activ8 Solar Energies was also named Established Entrepreneur of the Year at the prestigious awards. Speaking to Northern Sound earlier, a delighted Sam Moffett said to win the overall entrepreneur award was "unexpected" but "fantastic".
"It was an amazing feeling," Sam told Northern Sound, "We were in the 'emerging' category and there was some great finalists in it. We thought we had a bit of a chance in the category but, to win overall was definitely unexpected altogether and we're honoured. To get that recognition is just fantastic!"
