The landmark property is on sale with a guide price of €6m.

A Carrickmacross councillor has described recent developments in relation to the Nuremore Hotel as a "gamechanger" for the area. It was confirmed this week that the Nuremore Hotel in Carrickmacross has gone on sale with a guide price of €6m. The landmark property is being sold on behalf of Declan De Lacy Liquidator of Nubility Capital Ltd.

Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr PJ O'Hanlon highlighted the importance of the hotel, adding that the town of Carrick is associated with the Nuremore right across the country. Despite the devastating impact the closure had on the community back in 2023, Cllr O'Hanlon believes it's important to stay positive in the hopes of seeing the Nuremore Hotel back to its former glory. Cllr O'Hanlon went on to described the Nuremore as a "fantastic hotel" with many features to offer. The extensive facilities at the Nuremore Hotel include 70-bedrooms located on a 160-acre of parkland. Its facilities include restaurant, bar, leisure centre and a large function room. The hotel benefits from two extensive car parking areas with access from the Dundalk Road and the old Ardee Road. There is also an conference centre which is a custom-built facility for business meetings and conferences.

While describing the closure of the Nuremore as equal to the closing of the main street in Carrickmacross, Cllr O'Hanlon believes that it's important to stay positive. "We are in a better position today than we were six or eight months ago. We want to see Nuremore back to its former glory because we want to see part of Carrick rejuvenated and that will benefit people from the whole area. Let's just keep our fingers crossed and hope that there will be a new buyer for this fantastic facility and it will be happy days for everyone."
