The sale of Mobane House, the first house in County Monaghan to seek a €1m asking price, has been agreed. Savills estate agents confirmed the news to Northern Sound this afternoon.
The six-bedroom property with pool complex on five acres on the Dundalk Road in Castleblayney went on the market in July. It made headlines as the first Monaghan house to go on sale with a €1m price tag.
Soon after it was advertised, Savills received a bid of €15,000 over the asking price but, today an agent said the company could not reveal how much the winning bid is for since the house is being sold by "private treaty". The architect-designed house was built in 1985 and renovated by the Hughes family who acquired it in 1991.
