The Fianna Fail Councillor called on the County Council to see if any progression could be made.

Locals in Ballinagh feel it's not safe to walk the route from Arkill place to Lacken GAA grounds.

That's according to Cavan Councillor, Philip Brady who says he has been approached by a number of people over the need for a footpath. He said that locals are hoping that something can be done to make the popular road safe for pedestrians.

Cllr Winston Bennet also said that he has received a number of calls from worried locals over this issue also. Cllr Brady said if further funding under active travel go be accessed it would create a walkway loop back to Ballinagh for an amenity trail for up to 7kms in distance.
