A safe talk training event is being held in the coming weeks in Cavan Town.
Safe Talk is a 3.5 hour suicide alertness programme that prepares participants to identify anyone with thoughts of suicide and connect them to suicide first aid resources.
The event will be held on Friday the 7th of July between 9:30am - 1pm in the Kilmore Diocesan Pastoral Centre in Cavan Town.
The aim of this course with 16 places available is to help reduce suicide risk in their community.
This training is suitable for anyone over the age of 18 who wants to help prevent suicide and is prepared to be a suicide alert helper i.e. front line workers, clergy, volunteers, teachers and people responding to family and friends.
The content of the Safe Talk workshop will discuss and practice steps so that you will have the skills to connect a person with suicidal thoughts to other relevant supports and services.
