The RSA are offering a face-to-face child car seat checking service in Monaghan this week.
This coming Tuesday and Wednesday will see the national roadshow service come to two locations in the town.
Over half of all child car seats at 56% checked by the Road Safety Authority's Check it Fits service have been fitted incorrectly.
Lead Checker of the RSA's Check it Fits service, Ron Richardson says if a child's car seat isn't fitted correctly, it could lead to a serious or fatal injury in the event of a collision.
To help address this problem, the RSA Check it Fits service will be visiting every county over the coming months, to help parents and ensure car seats and restraints are correctly fitted.
Mr. Richardson says the free service is a really important initiative.
