With almost 360,000 visitors to the public park last year. there's calls to invest in new toilet facilities at the most visited wooded park in Ireland.

The sculptures of birds and animals native to Rossmore are being created by local wood artists from Smithboro.

The wooded park is popular among locals and tourists for its playparks, walking tracks and the Drumlin Giants sculptures and remains Coillte's most visited space.

Local Gardaí were the orgainsers of this fundraiser for their honorary garda colleague Daire.

The 5KM walk with Daire will take place in Rossmore Park in Monaghan Town this morning at 10am.

Monaghan Gardai have issued an appeal to the local community and visitors to the park to remain vigilant.

Minister Humphreys visited the local amenity earlier today.
