Four Co Cavan schools and youth clubs are to benefit from robotic sets to assist with technological learning. The local educational facilities will receive a programmed robot with the latest software included.
The robots come in two separate boxes and the first thing the children have to do when they receive their new machine, is build it. They will provide the youngsters with an opportunity to engage in teamwork and learn problem-solving skills.
Meanwhile, Curravagh National School in Glangevlin; two local youth clubs; and a youth group for children with special needs are to receive the robots. St Mary’s BNS, Belturbet and Gallonry House afterschool in Maudabawn have already taken receipt of their robots from Cavan County Council.
Daniel Peeters, Digital Project Leader at the local authority says there has been a "very positive response" to the technology so far. "There are two locations in Cavan that already have a robot," he continued. "Four sets will be handed out and they will be distributed accordingly."
