A section of road along Carrickmacross' main street has reopened following a road traffic collision in the town last night. A woman was seriously injured after being struck by a tractor just after 6pm.
The pedestrian, in her 30s was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where she is receiving treatment for her injuries. The road was closed to facilitate a technical examination of the scene and local diversions were put in place.
Gardaí confirmed to Northern Sound that the road reopened at 1pm today.
