A road in Carrickmacross has reopened following an incident in the town in the early hours of this morning.
Gardai closed off Farney Street in the town due to what was described as an on-going incident earlier this morning.
The town centre location was cordoned off for several hours by local gardai.

In a statement issued to Shannonside Northern Sound news Gardaí confirmed they are investigating an incident of criminal damage that sometime in the early hours.
