Road realignment and new signage is being called for on a section of the Cavan to Cootehill Road after a number of accidents.
Councillor Carmel Brady raised the issue at this month's meeting of the Bailieborough -Cootehill MD, stating that there is a long curving bend on the road that has seen 16 crashes since 2015 and a fatality in 2006.
She says despite the erection of signage and work by the landowner to make the bend safer the problem is continuing, with a mother and two children involved in the most recent incident.
The executive stated that there was already too much signage and that full road realignment was needed and they would look into possible funding streams available to carry out the substantial work.
However, councillor Brady says new signage is still needed and people can't wait for funding as there could be another fatality before then:
