A Monaghan insurance broker says more stringent measures should be put in place to tackle the growing number of uninsured drivers on our roads.
More than 174,000 vehicles across the country are uninsured according to the Motor Insurers' Bureau of Ireland. An increase of over 23,000 since 2018.
Emma Gollogly, from GoLo Insurance in Carrickmacross says she is "not surprised" by the number of people who are driving without a valid insurance policy.
She claims the issue is increasingly problematic, and believes improvements must be made to the motor taxation system.
